Craftsmanship

Lee creates 3D and 2D artworks combining the processes and materials of metal sculpture, wire work and traditional tapestry weaving.  Each work is completely handmade by Lee in her studio in south London and at the Morley College sculpture studio.

Inspiration

Our wonderful multifaceted identities are created over time as we engage with our cultural and spatial surroundings. Each person is a unique and sometimes surpising result of their circumstances and choices. Reflecting on this, Lee juxtaposes yarn and metal, to represent conflicting elements that are brought together into a whole which is coherent and beautiful. She experiments with forms and textures to create work that makes explicit the object’s occupation, creation and framing of space.
